How should I prepare for my first treatment?

To prepare mentally for your session it's important to decide what it is you would like to gain from it, how do you wish to improve your life? What's brought you to holistic and spiritual therapies?

It's important to dress comfortably, loss clothing, preferably with no watch or necklace. I do ask that you wear socks please and that phones are switched off.

What should I expect from my first session?

Immediately following a healing session, you should take time to enjoy the deep state of relaxation you likely to be experiencing, before slowly coming back to full awareness. It’s recommended to allow yourself 20 minutes or so, after your session, to be fully awake before driving.


Many clients go into a deep state of relaxation, often forgetting or leaving the present state, you may experience the following;

  • Slight disorientation or a ‘floaty’ feeling when coming back to the present moment, it’s important to give yourself a few minutes to collect yourself before getting of the treatment bed.

  • If you experience disorientation, dizziness, or a floating feeling after sitting up for a minute, please let your practitioner know and they will help with a grounding exercise to anchor you to the ‘here and now’.

After a healing session it’s advisable to go home and relax as much as possible so you gain the maximum benefit from the treatment.

As the healing continues to work in your body and re-balances your energy you may experience;

  • Frequent urination and/or bowl moments (clearing).

  • Feeling emotional, emotional release, or emotional shifts.

  • Crying for no reason.

  • Feeling on top of the world or buzzing with energy.

  • Fatigue, feeling over tired, needing to sleep or rest.

  • Sleeping longer and deeper than usual overnight.

  • Tingling sensations.

  • Feeling hot or cold.

  • Temporary ‘Flu-like’ symptoms.

  • Skin detox symptoms such as pimples or blemishes.

  • Traveling aches and pains throughout the body.

  • Headaches, dizziness or nausea.


The symptoms above, whilst not sounding great, are a positive sign that your body if bringing itself back into balance. It’s also normal not to experience any symptoms at all as each person responds differently to the energy, in fact many people don’t have symptoms. In the rare occurrence that you experience any symptoms for an extended period, please contact your practitioner. Healing detox symptoms are minor and temporary in nature, they should not last longer than a few days.
